Belgrade is an ancient city with a rich history, located within the most beautiful area of Europe, the Balkans. We do not like to brag, but Belgrade has some of the most interesting men and mesmerizing women, that you will ever meet.
Belgrade is always teaming with life. Its streets are full of beguiling scents and vivid colors. This is the life of a city where the East and West meet, located on the confluence of two rivers, overshadowed by Mount Avala. At night, Gypsy music, strumming of tambourines, flowing vine, and intimate cafes, illustrate that the influence of the East has not yet left Belgrade’s cobblestones to the modern skyscrapers of the West.
When you come to Belgrade the warmth of its people is felt instantly, and lifelong friendships are easily formed, for it is a city of welcoming, lively, and smiling faces. Charm of Belgrade is simply irresistible! The best that Belgrade has to offer to any tourist is the spontaneity and generous hospitality of its residents. Throughout history, this famous hospitality has been recorded by all the world travelers who ever passed through Belgrade’s white walls. Now, centuries and decades later, the excellent cuisine, and the atmosphere of continual celebration are praised by contemporary journalists and other guests of the city. Belgrade is the new hub of the revived Eastern Europe.
Congress Tourism is a particular specialty of Belgrade’s tourism. The city has all the necessary resources a congress may require: accommodating facilities, congressional halls, exhibition halls, wide range of possibilities for supporting the touristic programs, and (perhaps most significantly) experienced and friendly conference organizers. In Belgrade, seminars, symposiums, congresses, fairs, and scientific and professional conferences are organized throughout the year in many fair and conference facilities; the most important being Sava Center, Belgrade Fair, Belgrade Arena, and Expo XXI. In addition to these facilities, a number of Belgrade’s hotels have wide congressand exhibition spaces.
In the past decades, Belgrade has hosted many important international conferences: Conference on European Security and Cooperation, the Assembly of the World Bank, the Assembly of the International Monetary Fund, UNESCO and the Assembly, the Assembly of the EBRD, World Congresses of Orthopedists, Dentists, Surgeons…
Belgrade’s New Year’s Eve Celebration has been held on the streets of Belgrade since the year 2004; from Slavija to Kalemegdan and in several special areas. It has been celebrated, in this part of Europe, with different types of music and a lot of foreign guests, all gathered for Belgrade’s free New Year’s Eve Night of Entertainments.
Belgrade climate is moderate continental, with distinct four seasons. However, autumn lasts longer than spring, with long, sunny days and unexpected warm periods (Indian Summer). Winter is not severe; it only averages 21 days with below zero temperatures. Spring is short and rainy, while summer arrives abruptly. January is the coldest month, with an average temperature of 0.10 °C, while July is the hottest, with the average of 22.10 °C. Average annual air temperature in Belgrade is 11.70 °C.
